The REva is the Raisonance Universal Evaluation Board that has been designed for quick and easy evaluation of a wide range of microcontrollers. It is made up of a generic REva mother board with embedded RLink in-circuit programmer and debugger, and a daughter board featuring a target microcontroller.
The REva's key features include:
The REva mother board can be powered by an external power supply which is not provided. The characteristics of the power supply are:
At the time of manufacturing, the REva and the RLink are connected to allow in-circuit debugging and in-circuit programming of the microcontroller on the REva daughter board, without additional power supply or cables.
The two tools can also be easily broken apart so that both the REva and the RLink can be used independently, or together. This requires the use of the furnished connection cable and an additional external 9V power supply (not furnished) for the REva. It is advised to break only the boards apart when required by your application.
Note that when separated from the REva, the RLink has the same in-circuit debugging and programming characteristics as the stand-alone RLink version 2.0.
As a result there are two possible configurations for using the REva:
RLink is a USB interface device designed by RAISONANCE that allows in-circuit debugging and in-circuit programming of various microcontrollers, including all the ST7 devices supported by RIDE. The functionalities of this embedded version of RLink are the same as the stand alone version.
The daughter boards contain all the components dedicated to a specific target, including the microcontroller itself, a clock selector and other device dependent features.
Additional ST7 and STR7 components will be soon available. Please check this web page again for more information.
Note that The different ST7xx-DB daughter boards can be also used with the STR7xx-SK starter kits, while the different STR7xx-DB daughter boards cannot be used with the ST7xx-SK or uPSD-SK (soon available) starter-kits, but only with STR7xx-SK starter kits, due to a software restriction.
The REva is delivered as part of the REva Starter Kit, which includes:
