STM8 Development Tools

Raisonance has developed, in co-operation with STMicroelectronics, a toolset (software and hardware) for the ST7 and STM8 family.

 

RKit-STM8

The RKit-STM8 software toolchain includes RBuilder, C Compiler (16KB limited), Assembler, Linker, CodeCompressor, Debugger and Simulator, all integrated into Ride7 for the best ease of use. The RKit-STM8 supersedes and inherits from all the capabilities from the older RKit-ST7 (support for the full ST7 family) RKit-STM8 comes in several versions :

  • RKit-STM8-Enterprise:With unlimited C compiler and CodeCompressor

 

Ride7 (Link to Ride7)

Ride7 is the Raisonance Integrated Development Environment. It allows you to manage all the software and hardware tools with the best ease of use.

 

Optimizing ANSI C Compiler

RCSTM8 is the highly optimizing C compiler for the ST7 and STM8 family from Raisonance. RCSTM8 allows you to write ST7 and STM8 applications in C that will have the efficiency and code compactness of the assembly language, while the C language expressivity will help you remain time-to-market on your applications.

 

RBuilder
RBuilder(only for ST7) is a tool that helps developers starting their projects. It performs the following:

  • Selection of the peripherals
  • Configuration of the selected peripherals
  • Generation of the project skeleton

Simulator
Ride7 provides a simulator capable of simulating the STM8 or ST7 cores and their most common peripherals and makes it possible to check the interaction between the application code and and the most common peripherals before debugging with an in-circuit debugger such as RLink or the REva evaluation board.

Drivers
USB driver for RLink is included in the software kit.

RFlasher
RFlasher is a friendly production-mode user interface for programming easily sall ST7 and STM8 families devices through the Raisonance RLink adapter.

CodeCompressor
CodeCompressor minimizes your applications ROM footprint. This global (post-link) optimizer, based on a unique technology from Raisonance, can reduce code size by up to 20%. It performs function inlining, code fragments factorization and advanced peephole optimization.

Hardware Tools


RLink
RLink is the Raisonance low-cost In-circuit programmer and debugger. It supports the ST7 and STM8 protocols through an easy-to-use USB connection. Smoothly integrated into Ride7 and RKit-STM8, it also supports ARM and µPSD (8051) device families.

The Raisonance REva evaluation platform is a universal development and experimentation platform. Based on an innovative modular design using interchangeable daughter boards, it supports all ST7 and STM8 device families, as well as ARM (STR7, STR9 and STM32) and 8051/uPSD."
